Support Job Skillset

The Support Job Skillset is an extra Skillset for those who have a Support Job found in the Occupation System. Here is where you'll create Skills to craft things associated with your trade. The Skills are not limited to things like just simply creating items, but also Skills that can maybe speed up the process of creating items, we'll shed some more light on that further in the topic.

Skills

Skills for Support Jobs, like regular combat Skills have Types. They are either Supplementary or Crafting Skills.

Crafting Skills

Crafting Skills are used to create actual things. These things should be registered in the **invention registry**. forum prior to creation. So any armors you want to make, dishes, medicines, drugs, gadgets, etc, should be registered there prior to being crafted. You'd then use one of your Skills to create the item you have registered. Crafting Skills registered don't serve the purpose of making one item and that's it. So if I registered some armor called Pirate Armor, I wouldn't make a Crafting Skill called Pirate Armor or Make Pirate Armor, etc. Crafting Skills should be broad and encompass whole types of items or equipment. So you should look to make Skills like Craft Armor, Create Gadget, Brew Poison, whatever have you.

Crafting Skills associated with unspecialized Occupations should only 500 Words. Crafting Skills that make use of a perk Specializing in an Occupation gave you should cost 750 words.

Below are some examples of Crafting Skills which will basically be the bread and butter of your Support Skill Set.

Skill Name: Craft Armor
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 1 Day
Skill Description: The user crafts a piece of Armor out of purchased materials in their possession.
Word Count: 500 Words

Skill Name: Repair
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 1 Day
Skill Description: The user repairs a piece of broken equipment.
Word Count Preparation: 500 Words

Skill Name: Cook
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 1 Day
Skill Description: The user cooks a Dish out of their recipe book.
Word Count: 500 Words

Skill Name: Make Explosive
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 1 Day
Skill Description: The user makes an Explosive device
Word Count: 750 Words

Skill Name: Make Gadget
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 1 Day
Skill Description: The user thumbs through their blueprints and makes a Gadget.
Word Count: 500 Words

Skill Name: Write
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 1 Day
Skill Description: The user makes a score or writes a song.
Word Count: 500 Words

Skill Name: Perform
Skill Type: Crafting
Skill Cooldown: 3 Post
Skill Description: The user performs one of their registered songs.
Word Count: N/A

So here you can see the purpose of these Skills is to make items that fall under a certain category. A piece of technology, a weapon, an explosive, a potion, medicine, meal, etc. Now we'll touch on Supplementary Skills.

Supplementary Skills

These Skills are things that are used beef up the things you make or maybe make things easier for you. Try to be creative here and think outside the box with these. We'll give a few examples to get the gears turning, but the rest is up to you.

Skill Name: Muscle Memory
Skill Type: Supplementary
Skill Cooldown: 3 Days
Skill Description: After crafting an item, the user can immediately make the same item again for half the word count.
Word Count: N/A

Skill Name: Production Line
Skill Type: Supplementary
Skill Cooldown: 3 Days
Skill Description: Having at least 5 Grunts, the user orders them to work on a project. In turn the grunts use one of the user's Crafting Skills and completes the work in 24 hours of real time. This ignores cooldowns in effect, but resets them afterwards.
Word Count: 500 Words

Static Skills

While if you're a Blacksmith you don't have to make a Crafting Skill that makes Armor, or if you're a Scientist you don't have to make Poisons, so on so forth, there are some Skills that are unchanging and must stay the same across all Skillsets. That is the Invent and Upgrade Skill. When you register something to be made, as a side effect you use the Invention Skill. Meaning you must wait another 12 hours before registering something else. This is to prevent flooding the Invention Registry forum with a bunch of ideas at once and overloading Staff.

The Upgrade Skill isn't mandatory for all Support Jobs, but it is probably something that Cooks, Doctors, Scientist, and maybe more will be interested in. When you look at the Invention Registry forum you'll see in the Invention Template, Inventions have Upgrade Points. Upgrading is something that you'd use to turn that weak poison that causes tummy aches into something that'd kill someone from the smallest drop entering their system. Or maybe you want to perfect one of your recipes to make it give amazing Attribute boost. Whatever your purpose may be, the Upgrade Skill is used to bump Inventions up to the next level and adds 1 Point to the Inventions Upgrade Point value. This maxes out at 6.

That said when Inventions are made they are expected to be rather basic and not Hydrogen Bombs right out the gate. It's all about progression.

Obtaining Skills

Everyone starts off with 3 Crafting Skill Slots and 3 Supplementary Skill Slots, not including Invent and Upgrade which come free. Of course more can be gained and this is done through the EP Shop where you also go to buy combat Skills.
