Devil Fruits
Run Down
Devil Fruits are mystical fruits found in the world that can give the eater many different and varying kinds of strange and interesting abilities, depending on the type and variation of the fruit itself.
Devil Fruits are said to be the fruits of the Sea Devil and that the secret to their power is hidden in the Grand Line. Because encounters with them are rare (especially outside the Grand Line), a number of rumors about them have risen, making it difficult to tell whether some things are fact or fiction. The average person knows nothing or very little about what they are or what they do; this especially applies to isolated countries, even within the Grand Line, such as Amazon Lily and Wano Country.
One running theme with Devil Fruits, however, is the fact that they taste unimaginably bad, to the point of making it seem like the user had taken poison. The Devil Fruit, when consumed, gives the consumer a power or special trait, which they will immediately become aware of; a person who has eaten a Devil Fruit and gained its powers is known as a Devil Fruit User (能力者 Nōryoku-sha, literally meaning "Ability User" or "Esper"). They come in different shapes and colors, and all Devil Fruits presumably have swirl marks or patterns on them of some kind. Only one bite is needed for the user to gain the power of a Devil Fruit, after which the Devil Fruit becomes a simple, useless, disgusting fruit. Despite this, all users tend to eat the entire fruit, as they are usually unaware of this fact.
When a Devil Fruit user dies, their ability is reborn into another fruit of the same kind. Instead of growing from a plant, the ability simply regenerates inside another existing fruit.
Rules
- For all objects in question, Pets, PCs, Weapons, etc, only one Devil Fruit can be ingested total. Should another be eaten the consumer dies or is destroyed should the object in question be an item. Those with the Devil's Stomach Fate Perk bypass this rule.
- There is no limit to how many Devil Fruits may come into your possession, however you may not stockpile Devil Fruits to keep them out of play.
- Any Devil Fruits that are absorbed by a hammer space related fruit, Swamp Swamp, Dark Dark, the literal Hammer Space Fruit, do not count as ingesting two devil fruits nor does it grant you the power to utilize the stored fruit.
- Fruits will always find their way back into circulation should one try to force them out of play. i.e. throwing a fruit into the ocean.
- Of the three characters you may have, only one can have a Logia and only one can have a Mythological Zoan.
- You may sponsor one of your fresh alternate characters with a Fruit another character of yours has gained through IC means. This allows them to OOCly obtain the fruit, but the alternate character must be no more than 1 month old.
Side Effects
- When the user is fully submerged in water they become immobile and unable to personally utilize any abilities they possess.
- When partially submerged, above the ankle, the user is unable to use any Devil Fruit related abilities.
- User has a weakness to Seastone
Seastone
Seastone, a special substance that emits the same energies of the sea, can also cancel out Devil Fruit powers through physical contact with the user. With sustained contact the victim experiences a loss of strength and energy.
- Each direct hit scored with Seastone against a Devil Fruit user shaves off 15% of their remaining Stamina.
Fruit Tiers
Devils Fruits are given Tiers on this site, 1-3. 1 being "weaker" Devil Fruit and 3 being "stronger". This isn't to say a Skill from a Tier 3 Devil Fruit that has equal Power to a Tier 1 Devil Fruit is stronger. This Tiering looks at the raw power Devil Fruits have and sometimes Canon superiority that is confirmed. Mera Mera is Tier 2 and Magu Magu is Tier 3, the Lava Devil Fruit being confirmed to be superior to the Fire Fruit.
The higher the Tier of the Devil Fruit, the harder the Devil Fruit is to acquire. May it be via doing an Arc or through purchasing it.
Obtaining a Devil Fruit
Devil Fruits can be obtained through four methods.
Standard Dice Roll
The first method and the most important is the standard dice roll which is done **here**. Upon character approval you are given 2 free rolls. Upon rolling the "Devil Fruit Dice" the results you get are very important and a link to them should be kept. The results you get, even if doubles, are the category of Fruit you can claim and quest for when trying to obtain a Devil Fruit. Claims from using this dice are only for your character's ingestion and can only be Tier 1 Devil Fruits in that category.
Questing
Questing for a Devil Fruit is done through Arcs. The Arc System is **here**. An Arc is simply a compilation of Task that are arranged to make a plot or story. A Devil Fruit can be acquired at the end of one of these Arcs, but the Tier of the Devil Fruit awarded depends on the Tier of the Arc completed. This is the only method of getting a Devil Fruit that is truly considered gaining it ICly.
Cursed Wheel
The Cursed Wheel is another dice roll based way of getting a Devil Fruit. It is found **here**. Cursed Wheel tickets have to be purchased through the Black market and through this Cursed Wheel you can be given a Devil Fruit of your choice from any Tier.
Black Market
The Black Market is an OOC market board controlled by staff. It is found **here**. At random with no notification staff will add and take items from this page, these items will sometimes be Devil Fruits. This method of getting Devil Fruit directly cost Beli.
Important Notes
Your two most recent Devil Fruit Roll results are the only two Devil Fruit categories you are eligible to claim through any of these methods.
- Tier 1—Fruits of this Tier have modest pricing in the Black Market. They can also be acquired through Tier 2 Devil Fruit Arcs or be immediately claimed upon rolling the Devil Fruit Dice.
- Tier 2—The pricing of fruits of this tier in the Black Market can hurt your pockets, and they can be acquired through Tier 4 Devil Fruit Arcs.
- Tier 3—These fruits fetch for a heft price in the Black Market and can be acquired through Tier 6 Devil Fruit Arcs.
The Middle and End sections of a DF Arc must be composed of strictly PC task, meaning they are open for intervention from others in your area.
